Who in the World Made the Cut: Vanity Fair’s 2013 International Best Dressed List

Vanity Fair’s 2013 International Best Dressed List is full of some of the most fashionable men and women in the world, as well as some whose strong sense of style is debatable. Given that there are a limited number of slots, it would be impossible to agree with all of Vanity Fair’s picks for best dressed, but hey, that’s what makes it so fun.

Kate Middleton makes the list once again.

This year’s list includes most of the usual suspects such as Victoria Beckham and Kate Middleton, whose classic, high-end designer wardrobe Vanity Fair just can’t seem to get enough of. She’s made the list for the past three years, and it’s likely she’ll be on it again in the future. Her hubby, Prince William, made the list last year, the two of them filling in one of the best-dressed couple slots, but he didn’t make the cut in 2013. Another notable omission is super-chic couple Andres and Lauren Santo Domingo, who also made the list together as a stylish pair in 2012. Lauren has garnered more fashion-savvy credibility than ever before this year with the growth of her online retail company Moda Operandi, so it was surprising that Vanity Fair didn’t include the New York City royalty.

Our First Lady Michelle Obama didn’t make the list, despite her consistent, timeless style, although Vanity Fair did include the new First Lady of China, Peng Liyuan this year. Other notable fashionistas who made the list include Kerry Washington, Tory Burch, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, LeBron James, Dree Hemingway, and Keith Richards. The jury’s still out on how the frumpily dressed rock star made the cut alongside stylish best-dressed honorees like Kate Middleton, but maybe Vanity Fair wanted to broaden the scope of what “good fashion sense” means in 2013.
