Sparkles and Silk at the Girls Season 3 Premiere

Earlier this week, fans, writers, fashion and Hollywood elite flocked to the season 3 premiere of HBO’s hit show, Girls in NYC. It was a star-studded event to say the least, and the red carpet fashions were on point. As Fashionista explains, “Lincoln Center, home of New York Fashion Week, was an approptriate venue for the event, considering that a sizeable chunk of the industry turned out to show ‘Girls’ its support,” of the fashion-savvy crowd in attendance.

The event was definitely a place to stargaze, and to drool over the plethora of sparkly, silky garments. Notable designers that were spotted at the event include Cynthia Rowley, Zac Posen, and Nanette Lepore, and other notable fashion elite included Joanna Coles, and model Karlie Kloss. Even the formidable Anna Wintour came out for the occasion, dressed in glamorous white fur by Prada.

The four leading ladies of Girls looked absolutely stunning at the event; Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, and Allison Williams were all smiles on the red carpet, looking chic and really excited about the premier. Williams, whom Fashionista describes as having looked “characteristically perfect,” in her embellished Dior dress looked really pulled together in pale blue with fantastic hair accessories to match. Mamet looked sweet and fresh in a black mini, and Kirke really wowed in a signature silk gown by Geminola, reportedly her mother’s fashion line. Lena Dunham, who has been known for taking fashion risks on the red carpet, was dressed in sparkles from head to toe in a longer-hemmed Rochas gown. She looked very classy, with beautiful hair and makeup.

One of the best things about the show Girls is how authentic the dialogue and relationships feel. It would seem that art imitates life; the girls of Girls radiated a genuine feeling of camaraderie and excitement on the red carpet, with beautiful fashion to match.
