Did you get a chance to watch the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night? Even if you missed it, you’re probably still encountering the overwhelming barrage of red carpet looks circulating on the Internet. One thing is for certain, there were some truly inspired garments and styles; here were some of my favorites:
Lupita Nyong’o looked absolutely radiant in this caped dress by Ralph Lauren. The Hollywood newcomer really stood out this year, both on screen, and on the red carpet. I’m looking forward to more bold, elegant looks from her this awards season.
This bright yellow dress by Zac Posen was a bold choice for Lena Dunham, who is typically pretty daring in her red carpet looks. Personally, I think that the fit is much more tailored to Dunham’s shape than what we normally see on the actress, and her hair and makeup is perfect. What do think about this look?
Amy Adams was incredible in American Hustle, and she seemed to be channeling the iconic fashion worn in the film at the Golden Globes. She looks strong and radiant in this vintage-inspired Valentino gown.
Wow. Masters of Sex star Caitlin FitzGerald looked absolutely breathtaking in this pale blue Emilia Wickstead gown. The shape and color were a nod to retro trends, but the garment still retained an elegant, refined quality, and FitzGerald wore it perfectly. Her peach and blue striped shoes offered a little playfulness under the long silhouette, and her hair and makeup was truly inspired.
Olivia Wilde has definitely been one of the most talked about stars of the red carpet, probably for proving to everyone in fashion that having a baby bump does not have to hold a woman back from upping the style ante. Wilde dazzled in a slinky green Gucci gown, looking better than I’ve seen her on the red carpet in ages. She was glowing, and her look was on point.
Other noteworthy looks from the awards show included Emma Watson’s Dior dress-over-pants look, Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior gown, and the trend in “man buns” – a look rocked by Jared Leto and others.
