I recently wrote about some of my all-time favorite British clothing brands, and how the cozy, trendy company Fat Face has plans to open shop stateside. The company, founded in 1988 by two entrepreneurial friends, offers some of the chicest outerwear and winter gear around. The popular retailer offers dresses that are inspired by the French Alps, as well as everything from skirts, tunics, knits, and of course, lots of fantastic jackets and coats.
Fat Face is one of my favorites because it offers such adorable pieces that aren’t as pricey as Top Shop, another fabulous British Brand. And while the retailer does offer delivery services to the United States, there’s something so great about being able to try on garments before you purchase them. After partnering with American investment firm Lazard in December, it seemed like the brand would soon be opening the doors of its first U.S. store. However, Fat Face is in the process of restructuring their expansion strategy, which may delay the American branch, The Telegraph reports.
If next winter proves to be as harsh as this one is, Fat Face will have no problem with clothing sales when they open up shop here; their lined trench coats, hooded puffer jackets, and gently dyed knits are perfect for this time of year. And winter isn’t the only season the retailer has nailed style-wise. The Fat Face Spring Campaign will inspire you to “Feel refreshed, feel energized, [and] feel alive,” in pretty, textured knitwear that is perfect for layering.
Fat Face still hasn’t released any specific information about when they’ll be heading to the U.S., but it has been reported that the company is shooting for sometime next year. Until then, I’ll be drooling over their coats and dresses in their online shop.
