How to Achieve the Perfect Cat Eye

The cat eye is a flirty little makeup trick that should be in every girl’s beauty repertoire. It’s definitely not the easiest look to achieve but with the right tools and a few simple steps, you will soon be applying the cat eye flick like a pro. You will need liquid eyeliner that is sturdy and thin to create the perfect line. You will also need eye-popping mascara.

Step 1: Draw a line at an angle. First lower your eyelid so you have a smooth surface to draw on. After you do that, then draw a line from the outer corner of your eye up at an angle. Make the line longer and sharper than you’d think because it will be smaller once you open your eye.

Step 2: Create a triangle. Create a triangle shape by connecting the top of your flick down to the lash line.

Step 3: Then fill that triangle. Use liquid liner to fill in the triangle. Make sure you layer enough products so the color is smooth and saturated.

Step 4: Connect the triangle to your lash line. Smooth out the area where the triangle meets with your lash line. Be sure to apply it thicker where the triangle meets your lash line and thinner as you get closer to the inner corner of your eye.

Step 5: Touch up any mistakes because it’s likely you didn’t get it right the first time. So use a Q-tip and makeup remover to erase any smudges or areas you want to sharpen.

Step 6: Put on that mascara after a minute or so of waiting for the eyeliner to dry.

Meow, kitten! You have just created a sultry eye makeup look that is as classic as it is fun. Now it’s time to hit the town!
