VH1 has a new cooking show with two very interesting hosts.
“Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party” will feature lifestyle connoisseur Martha Stewart and rapper Snoop Dogg entertaining celebrity guests with food and conversation in a dinner party-style format. The eponymous show will air this fall.
“My homegirl Martha and I have a special bond that goes back. We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!” Snoop said in a statement to VH1.
Both Stewart and Snoop are executive producers of the show.
VH1 president Chris McCarthy is just as excited about the endeavor.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, two of pop culture’s biggest icons,” McCarthy said. “Good parties are filled with fun, food and unexpected guests. Wait til you see what happens at ‘Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party’; it will be unforgettable.”
VH1 is no stranger to the reality TV and celebrity mix, and this also isn’t the first time Stewart and Snoop have worked together. Their TV (and cooking) relationship started in 2008 when Snoop Dogg was a guest on “Martha Stewart Living,” and the two later appeared on Comedy Central’s Justin Bieber roast in 2015 and ABC’s “$100,000 Pyramid” earlier this year. Anyone who has seen their onscreen chemistry will not be surprised to hear about this new show.
On the surface it sounds like a very unlikely and inconceivable pairing, but they have worked so well together in the past that this new partnership actually makes a lot of sense. Only time will tell if viewers are as interested once the show airs.
“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” Stewart said. “‘Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party’ will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way.”
Emulating her new co-host, Stewart also said the show will be “rizzle dizzle fo-shizzle.”
